Key milestones
With a bold vision formed in an MIT classroom, Zack Anderson and Shak Avadhany set out to create the first scalable, high bandwidth active suspension system for the automotive industry.
Endless late nights and caffeine-fueled mornings result in the development of our CM1 fully active suspension system. Extensive testing and a workable proof of concept soon follow.
We acquire Bose’s SoundActive™ suspension business, establishing ClearMotion as a serious technological player in the automotive suspension marketplace.
Multiple demonstrator vehicles are built to validate OEM ride and handling attribute targets, with every piece of feedback used to fine-tune the systems and ready them for use in the real world.
Alongside top minds from across the world of automotive, Christian Steinmann (ex-Continental) joins as CEO to lead us through our next phase of growth.
We kick off a new partnership with NIO, a leading Chinese electric vehicle maker. Work instantly gets underway on creating an ES8 SUV demonstrator for tuning and executive demos.
Series A investment led by NIO Capital is secured, giving us the resources to transition our core technology into automotive grade. Soon after, NIO officially selects us to supply active suspension for their next-gen chassis platform.
We were officially selected by NIO to supply active suspension for their next-generation chassis platform (NPD).
Our Changshu plant officially opens its doors, with production lines going operational in Spring 2024.
A technical collaboration with Porsche is announced, further expanding the adoption of our inventive and intuitive tech within high-performance vehicle line-ups.
A second major global automaker gives the ClearMotion suspension system the green light, expanding our reach and confirming our position as the go-to experts.
After successful production in our new Changshu plant, delivery of the CM1 system for the NIO ET9 gets underway. This marks a significant revenue-generating milestone for the business.
Following the success of the NIO ET9, we have succesfully secured a nomination for their next-generation ES9 SUV with production scheduled to begin in Spring 2026.
